Joining the team

New members typically join our team as synthetic chemists and learn additional skills according to their interests. 


We also welcome researchers from other disciplines who are looking to expand their scientific horizon and be part of an interdisciplinary environment.

Graduate Students


Passionate Ph.D. and M.Sc. students are invited to apply and join the group. Inquisitive minds who want to contribute to the adventure of establishing new research directions are always welcome!

Projects in chemistry include: synthetic organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein-labeling, and bio-conjugation strategies. Biology-related projects include: cellular physiology, fluorescence imaging, electrophysiology, and neurobiology.

Prospective graduate students interested in joining our group are encouraged to email Dr. Menard. 

Admissions for the graduate programs at UBC's campus in Kelowna take place through the UBC Okanagan College of Graduate Studies.  The application process is separate from the Vancouver campus.





Undergraduate Students

Talented and motivated undergraduates interested in research are encouraged to apply early as lab space is limited. To get details about a Honours or Summer research project, please contact Dr. Menard.
